Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy
The Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy is the 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in 1998 that owns and manages the natural areas and recreational facilities that make up the Coffee Creek Preserve. Its mission is to protect and maintain the biodiversity of the Coffee Creek Preserve and to provide educational and recreational experiences for the public.
Coffee Creek Preserve
The Coffee Creek Preserve is a 157-acre complex of wetlands, woodlands, and prairies with more than 400 native plant species. The magnificent display of wildflowers from spring through fall is one of the Preserve’s most notable features. Many mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies make their homes here. There is diverse birdlife, including both nesting and migratory species. Salmon, trout, and many other fish swim through and spawn in Coffee Creek's clear waters.
The Preserve is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts. A system of trails, including a three-mile loop around the perimeter, is popular with hikers, joggers, dog walkers, birders, and other nature lovers. Photographers are attracted by the abundant wildlife and wildflowers. Anglers find fishing in the creek excellent.
In addition to its natural bounty, the Coffee Creek Preserve also boasts two outstanding outdoor event venues. The Pavilion can be rented for picnics, family reunions, private and corporate parties. The Amphitheater hosts municipal concerts, community theater productions, and wedding ceremonies.
